This weeks drop is a link roundup of some juicy and deep podcasts, articles and posts on the topic of the individualization and pathologization of trauma. I have spent a lot of time thinking about this over the past few months and it is one of the main reasons I have decided to leave a system that perpetuates this way of viewing the wounds we all carry. Many of us believe that we are alone in our suffering or that there is some sort of hierarchical comparison to be had between said trauma or wounds. Not true. I think it is time for us to begin to view trauma as a system, a scaffolding if you will, that we live in and then look at how we can begin to come together to dismantle this scaffolding.
We have to begin to examine the psychology and the system we have been handed and question how it came to be, is it beneficial and how do we dismantle what no longer serves.
